An established environmental consulting firm with a strong presence in the Southeastern region is seeking an experienced
Health & Safety Representative to join their central New Jersey office.
Key Responsibilities:
-Identifies and anticipates safety and health hazards by observing site operations and occupational conditions, investigating violations, and recommending preventive programs
-Promotes a safe work environment by training managers and employees on safety policies and procedures
-Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations by staying current on existing and new legislation and implementing changes as needed
-Enforces safety policies by conducting inspections and counseling management on any unsafe conditions and/or work practices
-Oversees medical treatment and alcohol/drug testing programs, and handles all required drug/alcohol and dot record keeping for the New Jersey office
-Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a science or health & safety related discipline
4-6+ years of experience in EH&S program development and training for the environmental services industry
Advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills are required
Professional Certification is preferred
As a condition of employment, applicant will have to successfully pass an alcohol/drug screening and a background check
