Transportation and Security Compliance Specialist

Wichita, KS (will relocate)

Overall goal: Liaison for the facilities between compliance with defined regulations and compliance management, as well as company SOP's and policies… making sure each location is in compliance with both:

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Implement and maintain transportation and security compliance programs.
  • Ensure the sites’ applicable employee’s compliance related training remains current.
  • The compliance systems are being used as intended through periodic assessments and measures.
  • Document and manage corrective actions.
  • Review system effectiveness annually, using assessment, audit, investigation results, and employee feedback.
  • Other responsibilities at facilities will be: dealing with regulatory questions, reviewing training materials, conduction training, site evaluations, investigations & audits, familiarity with staff and activity at each site, facility security needs based on vulnerability assessments, writing security plans, identifying risk, developing controls to mitigate risk, providing training surrounding risk reduction, acting as a regulatory driving force as well as m monitoring company goals and objectives, etc.

Crossover responsibilities:

  • Security aspect of role is more new development; focus on writing training, rules, etc. for new facilities, dealing with Homeland Security asfar as location of, access to, danger level of chemicals, plants, tanks, etc.
  • Transportation side is more established mostly maintenance, some new facility management, import/export, DOT regulations, customs rules, TSA compliance, Hazmat. Needs to be able to read & understand regulations. CFTAS is important.

Required experience:

  • Qualify for the Federal Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft office experience
  • Organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel 50+%
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to read regulations

Work experience preferred:

  • 3+ years experience and/or an understanding of compliance requirements in the following areas:
  • DOT ( including preparation, packaging, and shipping of DOT hazardous materials)
  • USCG, MTSA and TSA TWIC
  • DHS CFATS
  • Security Vulnerability Analysis
