North America Hazardous Materials Specialist

Job 115745: North America Hazardous Materials Specialist (Seattle, WA)

This position will implement and maintain policies and processes for a variety of hazardous materials products. The position will also be responsible for working with technology partners to design and implement software to ensure hazardous materials products are stored and shipped in accordance with local, state, federal and international regulations.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Implement and maintain HazMat management procedures that meet regulatory requirements, protect Amazon customers and maximize business opportunity
• Manage tracking and reporting systems for internal and external communication
• Implement company-wide SOP’s for HazMat management
• Serve as a point of contact for all HazMat questions within the organization
• Conduct audits and safety incident management in accordance with Amazon policies and local law

Qualifications:

The successful candidate has:
• 3-5 years of experience in hazardous materials compliance management, preferably retailer experience
• Demonstrated success in HazMat program and project management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously
• Accomplished range of skills from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
• Bachelor degree; M.P.A. or M.B.A. is preferred
