Jerry Cox has been involved with the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (formerly HMAC) in various capacities
since 1981 and has successfully defended several companies accused of hazardous materials violations.
As Legislative Counsel to U.S. Senator John C. Danforth, Mr. Cox played a key role in congressional
consideration of amendments to the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act involving federal preemption of
state and local routing restrictions. When he returned to private practice, Mr. Cox became DGAC's Registered

involving the U.S. Government, foreign governmental organizations (especially in Europe) and several
international standards-setting bodies.
Mr. Cox has been admitted to practice in several state and federal courts. He is a graduate of the Woodrow
Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and University of Virginia School of Law.
